Compelling reasons to start exercise program

Another year is coming to an end and surely I have not been able to keep up with my new year resolution like most folks- Research has showing that losing weight and working out are the two most new year resolutions . By January the gyms will be packed with people that have good intention but by April about 90% will have stop going and back to the unhealthy habit. Instead of joining a gym, buying a new exercise gadgets and making a new year resolution why don't you make a weekly resolution. There are many compelling reasons to start an exercise program apart from losing weight. Some of the reasons listed below is from a recent article in Joyce Meyer's monthly magazine

1. Exercise prevent cancer
2.Exercise prevents heart attacks and heart disease
3.Exercise lowers stress
4.Exercise promotes weight loss and decrease appetite
5.Exercise reduce depression
6.Exercise increase energy level
7.Exercise slows the aging process
8.Exercise increase lung capacity
9. Exercise prevent cold & flue
10. Exercise improve memory retention

There are so many reason to start and so many reason that we can give not to do anything. Some of the reasons are
1. I don't have time
2. I'm okay with the way I'm
3. I'm very comfortable with my body
4. I'm in denial about my health
5. I have kids how can I be expected to do anything
6. This is my body structure there is nothing I can do about it
7. What do the doctors know, they don't understand that my genetic build is different from other people. I may look overweight but really I'm okay
8. All these testing about cholesterol is just that- I have people in Nigeria that never check their
cholesterol and they are okay
9. I can pray my way out of bad health without doing anything

What is your excuse? An exercise program does not have to start with going to the gym or buying a machine- Why don't you start a walking for just 10mins a day.
We all know our self- Are you a morning person get up early and walk, or if you an evening person walk when you get back from work. You can also walk during your lunch break at work- Just start and do something.......
Is not always about weight loss but about overall health..........

Let's start- ......What's your goal this coming year........

My goal - lower cholesterol level without any drug, loss about 30 pounds......

Let's go......

This is nice and weekly commitmment seems easier to achieve. I'll start with walking on my lunch break

We all definately need to prayerfully commit our goals to God and use discipline to followit through. God enables us but we have to put that enablement to good use in order to achieve our purpose. I intend to capitalize on that and by seeking grace to eradicate rice from my diet, walking on my lunch break, and getting very well acquainted with my vegetables.
