Property assessment is done every 3 years per the state law and the value have been going up despite the down turn in the market and you know what that means – property tax is going to increase come July 08. State of Maryland has what is called a homestead Tax Credit for principal residence. Homestead tax credit limit the amount of taxable assessment to 10% each year – That is homeowners will not be paying property tax for about 10% of the new increase. In previous years this credit is automatic, but a new law was passed in the general assembly last year. This new law requires that home owners apply for this credit without this application you will be paying property tax on the full assessment value ouch!!!!. Check your mail and make sure you did get you new assessment from the state and also make sure you fill out and submit the application for the Homestead tax credit unless of course you don’t mind the tax increase. This credit is for principal residence only investment and vacation homes are not eligible.
Take a minute to fill out the application and mail it quickly. You can also do it electronically until April 1 2008 @ http://www.dat.state.md.us/.

Have any question or concern about real estate drop me an email @ keji@metrohomesrealty.com or visit me @ http://www.metrohomesrealty.com/ to view hundreds of houses for sale in Maryland.

Compelling reasons to start exercise program

Another year is coming to an end and surely I have not been able to keep up with my new year resolution like most folks- Research has showing that losing weight and working out are the two most new year resolutions . By January the gyms will be packed with people that have good intention but by April about 90% will have stop going and back to the unhealthy habit. Instead of joining a gym, buying a new exercise gadgets and making a new year resolution why don't you make a weekly resolution. There are many compelling reasons to start an exercise program apart from losing weight. Some of the reasons listed below is from a recent article in Joyce Meyer's monthly magazine

1. Exercise prevent cancer
2.Exercise prevents heart attacks and heart disease
3.Exercise lowers stress
4.Exercise promotes weight loss and decrease appetite
5.Exercise reduce depression
6.Exercise increase energy level
7.Exercise slows the aging process
8.Exercise increase lung capacity
9. Exercise prevent cold & flue
10. Exercise improve memory retention

There are so many reason to start and so many reason that we can give not to do anything. Some of the reasons are
1. I don't have time
2. I'm okay with the way I'm
3. I'm very comfortable with my body
4. I'm in denial about my health
5. I have kids how can I be expected to do anything
6. This is my body structure there is nothing I can do about it
7. What do the doctors know, they don't understand that my genetic build is different from other people. I may look overweight but really I'm okay
8. All these testing about cholesterol is just that- I have people in Nigeria that never check their
cholesterol and they are okay
9. I can pray my way out of bad health without doing anything

What is your excuse? An exercise program does not have to start with going to the gym or buying a machine- Why don't you start a walking for just 10mins a day.
We all know our self- Are you a morning person get up early and walk, or if you an evening person walk when you get back from work. You can also walk during your lunch break at work- Just start and do something.......
Is not always about weight loss but about overall health..........

Let's start- ......What's your goal this coming year........

My goal - lower cholesterol level without any drug, loss about 30 pounds......

Let's go......

What is up with our market

The real estate market is still active and not crashing contrary to all the media hype the market return to normal market. If you are thinking of selling in this market there are couple of things you need to know; houses are still selling in this market, property value is not declining but adjusting to reality of the market. To get property sold in this market seller need to price their house right, offer terms that attract buyers, get the house in a mint condition, expose property to buyers and be flexible with showings.
Thinking of selling?
